The Next Phase

So Brody flipped out of his crib the other day. You know how they always send out those crazy safety warnings that sound so outrageous you figure they are only saying it to cover their hineys in case of law-suits? Like how you're supposed to take out the crib bumper once your child can walk because they can use them to climb out of their crib? Yeah...turns out that one's not so outrageous. Granted my child is a behemoth who's been wearing size 7 1/2 wide shoes and 3T clothes since he was 1 1/2 years old, but I never expected my 22 month old to already need a big boy bed! I'm just not ready for this...and I REALLY wasn't ready to walk into my son's room right as he was falling head-first over the railing and onto the not-so-soft wood floor. I guess we just don't get a choice in determining when we're ready for the next phases in life. This doesn't sit well with a routine-crazed controller who would prefer to keep her son confined as long as possible for the sake of her own sanity! I guess it doesn't count as sumbitting to God's will if you only submit to the things you want to submit to...sigh!

I'm proud of you! You are doing awesome. I agree, submitting to the Lord's will is HARD...even though we wind up being so thankful for it! That Brody...what a cutie!

22 months! Knowing Brody that is impressive. Mason was 15 months when he first started escaping!

See...if it was just escaping I could handle it...that involves a coordinated and less dangerous effort. Brody just leans over the rail and launches, assuming his massive size will somehow cushion the fall! (Honestly...I don't even think there is any premeditation involved...he just goes wherever his head takes him.)
