It became obvious to me that my life has come to a screeching halt when I went to type in the address for my blog and it didn't automatically show up on my recent activity list. Life with 2 kids is drastically different than life with 1, but it really hasn't been as bad as I was expecting! I think this is mostly due to the fact that God mercifully gave me a "good" newborn this time. I know, I know...how could I call any newborn "bad", especially my own son?!? Well...simply put...you weren't there!! So what made Brody so bad that in turn makes Taryn so good?
1. Eating...Taryn eats so slowly and peacefully until her little tummy is full. Brody ate like an angry raccoon trapped in a potato-sack!! Needless to say, he was never full before I "pulled the plug" and gave him a bottle instead!
2. Sleeping...Taryn isn't the most amazing sleeper I've ever heard tell, but she sleeps for 3-4 hour stints through the night! Since it took Brody 3 months just to spread out his eating to every 3 hrs., sleep was a fantasy that didn't return to reality until he was almost a year old!
3. Pooping...This one is probably TMI for most people, but as it's a LARGE part of a newborn's life, it merits mentioning...it's also the ONLY area where Brody scores one in the "good" column. Both my kids were/are good poopers and colic was never a problem!
I realize that the list is small for now and we'll have to wait and see as new issues arise like traveling in the car seat (Brody only just recently moved to the "good" column for that one), separation anxiety (Brody only had a short bout from about 1yr.- 2yrs. old), and the terrible-twos (don't even get me started with Brody on this one!!). For now, we are just grateful that God has given us another healthy baby that we will try not to screw up too much!
