There is no other word in Taryn's vocabulary that I love more than the way she says princess...mostly because it sounds like she's saying "pimp ass" which I find hilarious....but also for the enthusiasm with which she exclaims something that is clearly so dear to her. Every time she shouts it, I'm instantly transported back to that magical time of life when there was so little to challenge my belief that I could be something more precious and far greater than the boundaries of my humanity would allow. There was complete liberty, not to do whatever I please, but to live a life that human depravity could not touch. My home was an inpenetrable fortress. My plate was never lacking in the most palatable cuisine. I was always robed in the finest materials, and my benevolent conduct was unparalled!
Oh what a difference a day makes (or 28 years for that matter)! Something that comes so easily to the mind of a two-year-old, requires such discipline in my stubborn, 30-year-old will. My prayer is that my kids never struggle with the belief that they are royalty...not because they feel they earned it...and CERTAINLY not because they think it entitles them to do whatever feels right to them...but because they understood and knew the ways of their King, and saw the value in submitting their ways to His.
...and also that I'll one day get to wear as beautiful a dress as Princess Kate's! :)
