Our Wall

We have been building a safe haven for our kids for about 3 months now.  For some added perspective, that's 12 weeks or around 90 days of heavy construction in the back of our house.  On top of that, we have some disgruntled shut-ins living nextdoor who are partially to blame for a 6 week project doubling in time.  Their complaints uncovered a 30 year old amendment buried in the neighborhood CC&Rs that set aside the back half of our property as a wilderness preserve for the very animals from which we were trying to protect our kids!
Imagine our surprise after having our plans approved by the board, construction stopped by the board after we were 2 weeks from finishing, reapproved after 3 weeks of waiting, and now halted again as they "consult their attorney"!   We can't seem to have our calls returned and we are watching pavers get delivered with no idea if/when we can put them in.
Now, those of you who know what a good little soldier I am know how hard it is for me to deal with rules that have been broken (albeit unknowingly) and money that has been spent to do it!  But then I read the following...

26 And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.” 27 This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; 29 for our God is a consuming fire.  Hebrews 12:26-29

Our wall is a created thing that will be removed whether it's today by our HOA or at the end with God's consuming fire.  Instead of concerning myself with the fate of a wall, I've decided to show gratitude as an acceptable service to God for all He has given us.  Now that I've said it, y'all have to hold me to it! :)
