I just made some DELICIOUS homemade meatball calzones last night and I HAVE to pass along the recipe. They are so easy to make...and even easier if you buy pre-made meatballs!!
Meatball Calzones
1 lb. of ground beef
1/2 c. bread crumbs
3 T. pizza or Italian seasoning
2 eggs
3 T. grated parmesan cheese
1 pkg. of pizza dough (prepared)
2 c. pizza or spaghetti sauce
2 c. shredded mozzerella cheese
Preheat oven to 400 deg. Mix first 5 ingredients together and shape into 1 in. balls (I like to make more smaller). Bake for 10-15 min. or until no longer pink. Reduce heat to 350 deg. Divide prepared pizza dough in half and roll out on greased baking pan into two circles. Place 1/2 meatballs, 1/2 sauce and 1/2 cheese on each circle. Roll up sides and pinch together. Place seam side down on sheet. Brush tops with egg whites (or just spray with butter Pam spray if you're lazy like me) and sprinkle with a little extra italian seasoning. Let sit for 15-20 min. Bake for 25-30 min.
Do calzones want to go to the party?...the party in my tummy? (Sorry...that's a little Yo Gabba Gabba for all you non-toddler parents).
