OK kids!! It's the home stretch and I see the finish line in sight! Sure we had an accident in our car seat because Mommy just HAD to get out of the house so she broke the rules...I have no one to blame but myself...but I think I redeemed the situation by having him successfully finish the pee on his potty chair sitting next to Bing in the back of my car in front of the entire grocery store parking lot (if only I had my camera!).
Last night was a MILLION times better!! I basically just went into his room every five minutes asking him if he needed to pee for the first hour after I put him down...ok...hour and 1/2. By then I felt I had squeezed every last possible ounce of pee from his bladder and I was happy to let him fall asleep. I then went to bed praying that he would call for me rather than sleep in his pee and sure enough, God answered my prayers! At 12:45 he called down the hall and off to the potty we rushed. It's amazing what one good midnight pee will do for one's sleep...and it doesn't even have to be your own!! It was probably too good, cause I got a little cocky and decided to sleep in rather than get Brody up a little early to avoid the morning accident...oops! Still, I was very happy with only one accident all night!
Today we're starting to ween Brody off getting a "treat" every time he goes potty...which basically means I've taken the treats out of the bathroom and he only gets one if he remembers to ask for one after he goes...so far a 50/50 shot with my clueless kid.
I have to say that I really didn't think this method would work for day AND night potty training so quickly, but I stand corrected. It's definitely not for everyone because it is even more hard core and exhausting than you can ever prepare yourself for! But if you want your kid potty trained quickly (let's say because your child is the size of a kindergartner and you have another baby coming and you don't want to spend all your time changing TWO sets of poopy diapers) and you have 3 days worth of time, energy, blood, sweat, and tears to spare...than this is the method for you! www.3daypottytraining.com
