(Brody and Mommy reading Sports Illustrated...a.k.a. "The Football Book")
For the sake of honesty and integrity I'm not gonna mince words on this one...LAST NIGHT SUCKED!! Brody had one less accident over the course of eight hours than he did ALL DAY yesterday! I went in to see if he needed to go potty 10 minutes after I put him down and he had already peed himself!! Then I went back in right before I went to bed to get him up to go potty...and he had soaked himself AGAIN!! I'm pretty sure he'd rather just pee and sleep in it than get up and use the potty....urrrrgh!! It wasn't until the temperatures dipped down in the early morning hours that he finally decided his third self-inspired sanctuary of pee was a little too chilly to maintain. In the meantime, I spent my night either listening for Brody to call out potty or dreaming about him calling it out...not the most restful sleep I've had!
Our breakthrough came at 3:45 am when a teeth-chattering ball of soaking pee was finally awake enough to pee on the potty. He actually went twice because I had to spend another hour changing his bed (for the third time!!) and then rocking him until he was warm enough to go back to sleep. Of course I wasn't quite so lucky. Instead I crawled into the guest bed (right next to his bedroom) to listen to him drift back off to sleep in case there was a "pee pee", "potty", or the dreaded "poo poo" sprinkled in amongst his babble.
I have no idea what time I finally got back to sleep, but I slept hard until 6:30 when the rumblings of my work-bound husband lured me back to my own bed where I crashed until 8:00 (thankfully Brody likes to sleep in a little later if he's been up in the middle of the night!). At the first peep I heard from down the hall, I jumped out of bed and rushed to what I assumed was going to be another pee-baby....but God had mercy and delivered me from the night of hell with a dry, cheery-eyed "big boy" who immediately went pee on the potty and waited expectantly for his cheeto (yes...I switched to cheetos and sugar-free Chrystal Light after yesterday's madness...which apparently are equally as motivational). He even had his first poopy on the potty without any trouble this morning, so he clearly gets the whole concept. I just have this sinking suspicion that because it obviously doesn't bother him to sleep in his own urine, it may take us longer than 3 days to conquer the nighttime accidents! I guess I'll keep ya'll posted (gee...thanks...right?).

You have no idea how much I love the daily updates...Makes me feel I'm still part of the "magic" even tho I'm not there...Poo Poo and Pee Pee talk are my happy place right now!!... xou my sweet...P.S. G.P. will be so pleased to hear Brody is enjoying his potty time with Sports Illustrated!!
I am SO glad you are sharing (the good AND the bad!). You are doing a great job and you are an inspiration to us all! It's okay if it takes more than 3 days...It's been about 30 YEARS for me and I still wish I didn't have to get out of bed to go potty!
