HELP!!!....I Have A Preschooler!!
Summer is winding down and Target is full of school supplies! Yes...the school year is only a few weeks away, and for the first time in 3 years I'm interested in more than just the shorter lines at the Children's Museum. I have a 3 year old who is MORE than ready for preschool! The only problem is that I'm not ready. I'm not ready to find somewhere in the budget for the INSANE prices of the halfway decent schools! I'm not ready to deal with the tornado of trouble that swirls around a child under the influence of his peers! I'm not ready to give up my exclusive responsibility to "train up my children in the way they should go"! And then I realized....who says that I have to? Call me crazy, but I'm married to a licenced doctor who has just completed his 25th year of school and guess what wasn't included in those 25 years...yep, preschool! So I've decided to take the next year to have fun exploring the world with my son. He may learn absolutely nothing, but we'll have fun doing it!! He'll be in school soon enough...or maybe not...but I'm not ready to pass off my God-given responsibility just yet.
(P.S. If you're crazy like me, or just want to see how it goes, feel free to visit here or the link to the right..."my latest passion project")

Well said Lindsey! I think it is crazy just how much "school" society things we NEED. I keep hearing about parents doing part(and full.. yikes!)time preschool for their one and two year olds. I really have been feeling kind of alone in my view that their is plenty of time for school and structured learning and such a limited time for unstructured playtime. Playtime, I think, is more important than circle time to children. What happened to childhood? So glad to hear about your adventures!
AMEN!! Why did you move away right when I needed your moral support?!?! :)
